Round Table next Gen Global Competence centers 30/10/2025

Save the date: Round Table 30 October 2025 in Breukelen

In recent months, we have received many questions about current developments, e.g., the impact of AI, in Global Competency Centres (including Shared Service Centres and off/near shoring of Global Business Services). Together with our partner Avasant (a global research and consulting firm based in Los Angeles and Delhi), we would like to discuss these developments and questions.

Global Competency Centres are entering a new growth phase with exciting developments that make GCCs relevant for Benelux companies. Together with Avasant, we are organising a round table meeting on 30 October at Buitenplaats Slangevegt in Breukelen.

Avasant recently conducted some very interesting research among international companies with GCCs, the results of which they presented earlier this year to executive leaders of GCCs in India. We want to discuss the findings for the Benelux with a select group of contacts. Marcel Mertens, Head Strategic Sourcing & Partner Management at ABN AMRO Bank, will share the experiences and the journey of ABN AMRO Bank.

Is this relevant to you and do you want to  attend on 30 October? Please inform us.

Here are some takeaways from the Avasant report:

GCCs: The biggest wave in tech services—bigger than even AI?

We had the pleasure of interviewing more than 50+ GCC leaders in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi about: "Reimagining Enterprise Transformation – The Rise of GCCs and Service Provider Co-innovation."

Based on latest insights, shaped by ongoing research and conversations with enterprise leaders we covered few key takeaways:

- GCCs aren’t new—but still vastly underpenetrated.

They’ve existed in some form for over 25 years, yet only 20% of the Global 2000 operate a GCC today. The growth runway is massive - so expect action to continue.

- Most Enterprises fall short of realizing the full potential of their GCCs.

While they start with cost and efficiency goals, many get stuck there—never unlocking innovation or enterprise-level impact.

- The best-performing enterprises treat GCCs as a strategic enterprise extension - not as an outpost.

Budgeting, leadership, KPIs, and value realization are fully integrated—not siloed.

- GCC leaders face a dual challenge: alignment and change.

To drive transformation, they must strengthen alignment with HQ priorities and champion change management.

- AI—especially Agentic AI—is an accelerant, not a distraction.

It amplifies the case for rethinking operating models and investing in next-gen capabilities.

- It’s not GCCs vs service providers. It’s with.

Enterprises will need ecosystem partners more than ever—skills, innovation, and speed will all come from smart collaboration.
