Project: Sourcing Strategy and Cloud Architecture for Community Hosting Platform

Challenge and client value: The client faced a decision to invest in a new platform for the 600 websites that support the digital presence of the public broadcasting organisations. Key dilemmas were the choices on interconnected Hosting and Streaming of digital media programs and productions. Which new architecture is preferred? How to develop, host and maintain the platform? What will be the cost and business benefits in the future, which activities and competences to strengthen? Which providers are most suitable? Which governance model etc.?

Approach: Whitebridge conducted an in-depth assessment of the needs of all of the very different 28 broadcasting companies, assessed the internal organisation, technical volumes and cost levels. Next, potential scenario’s were developed based on the available services and road maps of market players.

The result was a clear strategy and a supported buy-in of senior management. The strategy recommendations included the architecture and sourcing options. In addition, cost and competences, impact for the 28 broadcasting organizations, and the governance model needed to guide the digital transformation were developed.
